Meet Our Pharmacy Residents 2013-14

Devangi Desai

Devangi Desai was born and raised in nearby Glendora, CA. She received her bachelor of science degree from University of California, Los Angeles and her doctor of pharmacy degree from Washington State University. Devangi’s professional interests include cardiology, infectious disease and academia. Upon completion of her residency, she hopes to work as a clinical pharmacist with a focus in cardiology. In her spare time, Devangi enjoys traveling, reading, watching basketball and spending time with family and friends. She is very enthusiastic about the upcoming year and very thankful for the opportunity to complete her PGY-1 residency at GAMC.

Jessica Lin

Jessica Lin was born and raised in Torrance, CA. She recently received her doctor of pharmacy degree from University of Southern California (USC). Her undergraduate education was also at USC, where she attained a bachelor of science in biomedical engineering from the Viterbi School of Engineering. Her professional interests lie in the areas of critical care and emergency care. She hopes to develop a career as a clinical pharmacist and pay forward the clinical pearls she learned as a student by precepting students in the future. In her free time, Jessica enjoys baking, golfing, shoe shopping and seeing movies with friends. Jessica is very excited for her upcoming year as a PGY1 resident with GAMC and the learning experiences to come. Fight on!

Mohsen M. Shamai

Mohsen M. Shamai grew up in Pleasant Hill, CA and graduated from San Francisco State University, summa cum laude, with his bachelor of science in biochemistry. Mohsen received his doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Pharmacy. His pharmaceutical areas of interest include infectious disease, toxicology and drug use management. Mohsen currently lives in Pasadena and in his spare time enjoys camping, photography and travel.

Lamont Wong 

Lamont Wong was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. He received his bachelor of arts degree from University of California, Irvine and his doctor of pharmacy degree from Touro University, California. His professional interests include infectious disease, critical care and emergency medicine. Upon successful completion of residency, Lamont hopes to become a competent clinical pharmacist, and also to work in the community in his spare time promoting medication safety among the underserved. During his free time, Lamont enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and riding his motorcycle. He is grateful to have the opportunity to complete his PGY-1 residency at GAMC, and also very excited for this upcoming year.
