Lung Cancer Screening Program

lung cancer.jpgLung cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Glendale Adventist Medical Center is committed to fighting this disease and is pleased to offer low-cost lung cancer screenings.

About 85 percent of lung cancers are caused by smoking. The risk of developing lung cancer increases with the amount and length of time a person smokes. Risk also increases as a person ages, with most lung cancers occurring in people 55 and older.

The main test used to detect lung cancer is low-dose computed tomography (CT). A low-dose CT scan uses less radiation than conventional CT scans.

Candidates for our low-cost lung cancer screening services are:

  • Ages 55 to 80 years old
  • Heavy smokers or a history of heavy smoking (1 pack a day for 30 years or 2 packs a day for 15 years)
  • Current smokers or individuals who quit within the last 15 years

Our affordable screenings and services include:

  • Non-invasive, low dose CT scan of the lungs
  • Fast turn around time
  • Physician referrals
