Dr. Leah Cyran completed her undergraduate education at New York University and her pre-medical studies at Columbia University. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she was honored with several letters of commendation from the Dean. Dr. Cyran completed a five-year residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Southern California, where she was elected Administrative Chief Resident for her program and was honored with the “Hardest Working Resident” Award. She completed advanced training in Shoulder and Elbow surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and Adult Reconstruction surgery of the hip and knee at the University of Southern California.
During her training, Dr. Cyran gained extensive experience with complex reconstructive procedures of the shoulder, elbow and knee. Her specialties include conservative and surgical treatment of arthritis, sports injuries and trauma; arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery; and joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. She has experience with conventional and reverse total shoulder replacements, elbow and knee replacements and hip replacements utilizing the anterior approach. She currently specializes in shoulder, elbow, hip and knee conditions at the Orthopedic Center at Glendale Adventist.
Dr. Cyran has also co-authored study publications and review articles in peer-reviewed journals, and several chapters in orthopedic surgery books. She is currently on the voluntary faculty at the University of Southern California, where she teaches resident physicians and medical students.
