Family Medicine Residency Program

From its founding, Glendale Adventist Medical Center has remained committed to medical education and training. Through the hospital's Family Medicine Residency Program, young physicians continue their medical education while providing valuable health care services to our community. Fresh ideas and new insights from these residents result in a dynamic and invigorating medical environment for our patients and staff.

Glendale Adventist's Family Medicine Residency Program:

  • Was one of the first family medicine residencies in Southern California, established in 1973.
  • Provides training experiences in community medicine, addiction medicine, geriatrics, asthma and allergy, sports medicine and adolescent medicine.
  • Exposes medical residents to diverse medical settings, including Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Adventist Alcohol and Drug Services, the Community Health Center of Glendale (homeless clinic) and the Family Medicine Center.
  • Gives residents the opportunity to interact with the many cultures that make up the Glendale community, including Hispanic, Armenian, Korean and Filipino.
  • Embodies a deep commitment to community service, with rotations in local health clinics, free care to uninsured patients and homeless people, participation in public health fairs and medical trips to Mexico.
