"There’s a power... that can be created if GAMC and VHH truly partner, and that partnership would keep Verdugo Hills Hospital strong and viable well into the future."
GAMC desires to join forces with VHH to create a shared health system for the community.
We must seek ways to align and defragment delivery of care in our community.
Adventist Health is prepared to invest significant dollars to enhance VHH.
To Glendale and Foothill Community Residents:
Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC) and Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) are distinct and excellent examples of health care providers who understand it is our responsibility to care for our community’s health. For decades these two hospitals have co-existed in a mutually beneficial environment where each has provided care and offered services locally. However, to remain viable and effective for the future with healthcare reform we must avoid acting like “islands” and collaborate wherever possible.
This is why GAMC desires to join forces with Verdugo Hills Hospital to create a shared health care system to meet the needs of our local communities. Medical care, at its best, is locally delivered and locally consumed. No one wants to travel extra distances to get the healing and care they want and need when high quality care is literally minutes away. Hear from doctors about why local care is important.
There’s a power to the synergy that can be created if GAMC and VHH truly partner, and that partnership would keep Verdugo Hills Hospital strong and viable well into the future. Given the challenges ahead with health care reform nationally, we must all seek ways to align and defragment the delivery of quality care in our markets.
GAMC has a deep knowledge of local health care needs, serves with more than 700 physicians, many of whom practice on both campuses already, and has great experience in delivering compassionate, quality tertiary-level medical care. In addition to more than 100 years of rich history in the community,
GAMC is part of Adventist Health, an A-Rated, stable integrated health care system with ample expertise in managing and integrating community hospitals.
Adventist Health is prepared to invest significant capital dollars to enhance the buildings and programs of VHH as well. All these factors lead us to believe that an affi liation between GAMC and VHH is the best way to serve the health care needs of the Glendale and Foothill residents in a way that no one else can.
By collaborating with the hundreds of local physicians, surgeons, nurses and other specialty care givers who already care for you, we can maintain those important relationships close to your homes.
This, ultimately, would create better coordination throughout the various stages of care, such as the emergency room, your physician’s office, specialist physicians, through our hospitals, affiliated clinics, home health and long term care partners.
As these conversations continue, it is our vision and desire to create a system of coordinated health care to be delivered to you, locally. After all, when it comes to health care, it really is all about you!
