Local Girl Scout Refurbishes Ingeborg's Place Apart - A Relaxing and Warm Area for Cancer Patients at Glendale Adventist Medical Center - Project Earns Her the Girl Scout's Gold Award
What: Glendale Adventist Medical Center's Cancer Services will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, August 11 at 4 PM to celebrate Ingeborg's Place Apart's new location, 311 A Merrill Ave, Glendale. Located in the Center for Cancer Services, Ingeborg's Place Apart provides a relaxing and supportive environment for patients, family members and friends to access a library of patient educational materials, including books, audio/video an online resources. Patients can also access a variety of speciality image enhancement products, including wigs, hats and scarves.
Who: Girl Scout Kristine Locker, a senior at Sacred Heart Academy in La Canada chose to take on the task of refurbishing the room with new paint, flat screen TV, sconces for wig models. Locker raised all the funds for this project by recycling -which she started in her freshman year. This project earned her the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.
Where: 311 A Merrill Ave, Glendale. Ingeborg's Place Apart is a place where cancer patients can "relax" in between appointments, services and classes.
