GAMC’s Ambulatory Surgery Center has been open since April 1, but on June 24, GAMC staff, physicians and community representatives gathered at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“This center has been a long time coming,” said Carl Ermshar, MD, who helped bring the idea of the ASC to life. “We’re grateful to the leadership of Glendale Adventist who shared our vision and made it happen.”
The Ambulatory Surgery Center is one of the largest centers of its kind in the area, featuring four state-of-the-art operating rooms and one general procedure room. Located on the basement floor of the Lee Hughes Medical Building, the facility allows for improved patient access, faster turnaround times and easier patient registration. Highlights include:
Trained staff dedicated to exceeding the expectations of every patient
A large patient and family reception area with a children's corner and hospitality bar for use by patient families
Four state-of-the-art surgical suites
A general procedure room
Semi-private pre-op and recovery areas
Two private recovery rooms for use by those who need extra attention coming out of anesthesia
Accepts most major insurance plans
A wide range of procedures can be performed at the ASC, including general surgery; ear, nose and throat; gynecology; orthopedics; pain management; plastic surgery; podiatry; and urology.
The $6 million facility is part of the hospital’s continuing $230 million renovation and expansion project. For more information, please call (818) 818-863-4225.
