Week of the Young Child: Children from the Glendale Adventist Medical Center Community Children's Center Will Gather For "Stretchin" Day April 26
Week of the Young Child is a national time to raise awareness about the education of young children
WHAT: In a collaborative effort to raise awareness and celebrate Week of the Young, Glendale Adventist Medical Community Children's Center will host a week of events April 23 - 27. The Theme is "Let's Move," an initiative spearheaded by First Lady Michelle Obama to end childhood obesity and support healthier habits for children.
The Children's Center pre-schoolers already engage in many physical activities; however, this week on Thursday, April 26, they will be participating in "Stretchin" Day, where the children will be learning very basic yoga poses and breathing exercises- from basic poses for infants to a 15-pose cycle in the pre-kindergarten class.
WHY: Week of the Young Child, held this year the week of April 22 - 28, is a national time to raise awareness about the education of young children and in recognition of the professionals that work diligently to provide quality child care programs within local communities. All young children need and deserve high-quality early learning experiences that will prepare them for life.
