Dashing through Glendale with Vibram Barefoot Shoes 5K Run/Walk Sunday, March 11, 2012

GLENDALE, CA - The 5K run/walk sponsored by the Glendale News-Press will have a special feature this year, the top 3 male and top 3 female Vibram shoe users in the race will get special prizes. First place winners will receive a free pair of Vibram Barefoot Shoes (Bikila) and a $50 gift certificate from A Runner's Circle. Second place will receive a pair of free Vibram Barefoot Shoes (Bikila) and, 3rd place will receive a $50 Certificate from A Runner's Circle.

The Dash is set for Sunday, March 11 and benefits stroke services at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Stroke is the 2nd leading cause of death in the San Fernando Valley and the leading cause of long-term disability. Stroke is responsible for one out of every 14 deaths, killing more than 160,000 people every year.

Registration will start at 7A and the timed 5K Run/Walk will start at 8 AM in front of the Alex Theatre (216 N. Brand Blvd) in Glendale and will go through The Americana at Brand.
