Roberts Appointed President and CEO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center
September 29, 2011 (Roseville, CA) – Kevin Roberts, 52, has been appointed president and CEO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC), according to Robert G. Carmen, president and CEO of Adventist Health and chairman of the board for the Southern California facility. Roberts will assume his new role December 5, 2011.
“Kevin’s service to Adventist Health over the years has been exemplary. His distinct blend of clinical and administrative leadership coupled with long-standing commitment to our mission will serve GAMC and its community well,” stated Carmen.
Currently, Roberts is president and CEO at Castle Medical Center (CMC) on Oahu, Hawaii. Prior to that, he was the COO and chief nursing officer at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach, California. Roberts, who is a registered nurse, worked at Adventist Health’s corporate office as the director of Clinical Operations, providing management and operational consulting services throughout the system.
During his seven years at CMC, Roberts developed two capital construction projects totaling $38 million, brought on two clinical centers of excellence—bariatric surgery and joint replacement— and created a joint-venture surgery center, which includes 15 physician partners. For six years CMC was voted by its employees as a "Best Place to Work" in Hawaii.
Robert’s prior career experience includes COO and chief nursing officer at West Valley Medical Center, Caldwell, Idaho and vice president of Patient Services for Monument Valley Hospital in Monument Valley, Utah.
Roberts holds an AS in Nursing from Pacific Union College, a BS in Nursing from California State University of Sacramento and a Master’s in Public Administration/Health Services Administration from the University of San Francisco. He also is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Roberts and his wife, Alena, have two adult children and will be relocating to the Glendale area in early 2012.
According to Carmen, an executive search to fill Roberts’ vacated role will soon be underway.
