Glendale Adventist Medical Center Launches Employee Referral Plan Facebook App Current Employees Can Earn money for Job Referrals

Glendale Adventist was one of the first to unveil the new app technology

GLENDALE, CA -- August 18, 2011 -- Employees at Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC) can earn up to $6,000 in cash by referring others to GAMC through a new Facebook App. GAMC is using a new "Work@Employee Referral App" for Facebook powered by CareerBuilder.com. This will allow current employees to refer friends and others to new job opportunities at GAMC, a full-service medical center, which provides inpatient and outpatient services to a diverse community.

The Work@App was created to make it easier for employees to refer others to current listings. The application leverages CareerBuilder's industry leading job matching technology and the power of Facebook. It will be a more targeted approach using the idea of "going viral" to connect immediately with candidates for hard to fill positions that might match what the hospital is looking for versus placing a print ad or job posting and hoping the right person would come across it. The hospital's third top source for receiving applicants is through employee referrals.

"This new application will help the hospital find new nurses, and also benefits the current employee who sends the person our way," says Jodi Parrish, Employment Manager at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. "It's a win, win for all. We look forward to receiving the referrals."

When an employee refers someone who is hired by GAMC, that employee will receive a referral bonus of a designated amount. If the referral is for a Critical Care or Emergency Nurse, the employee could earn a $6000 (full-time) or $3000 (part-time) referral bonus - $3000 more than offered in the current Employee Referral Program (ERP). This bonus applies for hires in the next 5 months (August 1-December 31, 2011).

The employee making the referral will need a Facebook account and "like" the GAMC page at http://www.Facebook.com/GlendaleAdventist

The Work@app link is: http://apps.facebook.com/work-at/. Once the program is accessed, the employee must use the password given by the hospital. It's an easy way for an employee to earn a substantial bonus for selected positions.

Referrals should have a minimum of 2 years experience in Critical Care or Emergency Department and must list the name of the person who referred them. Currently, GAMC offers $3000 (full-time) and $1500 (part-time) for these positions: registered nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, respiratory therapist and speech language pathologist.
