WHAT: On Tuesday, May 3, Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC) will launch CPOE, Computerized Provider Order Entry, an electronic process that allows direct entry of medical orders by physicians and independent licensed health care providers.
WHY: CPOE will enable the hospital's system to have a complete electronic medical record (EMR) by moving toward a paperless environment. It will enhance patient safety and quality, and facilitate evidence-based medicine. The goal is to have a complete EMR accessible by providers any time, anywhere.
WHEN: The CPOE Kick-off celebration will take place in the hospital's Main Auditorium on Monday, May 2, 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The actual CPOE go live date is Tuesday, May 3.
