The indoor therapy pool in the Rehabilitation Institute at Glendale Adventist Medical Center is an outstanding facility, staffed by specially trained therapists who know how to put the healing powers of aquatic therapy to work for our patients.
- Full-size pool allows for a more vigorous exercise session than in standard walking tanks.
- Water is maintained at a warm and invigorating temperature.
- Total joint replacement and other orthopedic patients enjoy soothing and safe exercise before surgery to stretch and strengthen muscles around the joint.
- With proper bandaging, patients with open wounds can also use the pool.
A lift at poolside takes patients from a reclining position into the water.

Aquatic therapy is an effective and enjoyable rehabilitation option. It offers the advantages of buoyancy and warm temperatures to unweight joints and relax tissues that are affected by conditions such as herniated disks, degenerative changes to the spine, chronic pain syndromes, osteoarthritis and for those individuals who have undergone total joint replacement.
