Gala

More information on the 2012 Gala...

In the spring, the Healthcare Foundation holds its annual "Making a Difference Together" Gala. This formal affair includes dinner, a live auction, entertainment and awards presentations. Each year the committee selects persons to receive the Erwin J. Remboldt Founder's Award for outstanding individual philanthropy, the Georgia Abelmann Award for outstanding contributions to our community and the Frank F. Dupper Award for outstanding corporate philanthropy.

The Gala proceeds benefit many different projects and sponsorships for the event come primarily from physician groups and community organizations. Each sponsorship level includes dinner table reservations, an advertisement in the evening's program book and additional selected benefits. 500-600 people attend the Gala each year and the net proceeds of the event average $125,000 - $150,000.

Golf Tournament

In the fall, the Healthcare Foundation holds its annual Golf Classic. The full-day event, held at Oakmont Country Club, includes a continental breakfast, barbeque lunch, evening dinner and an awards program. The evening program also includes a silent auction, live auction and opportunity drawings.

Contests are integrated into the tournament throughout the day and awards are given for contests, as well as team low gross and low net scores. The Doty Perpetual Trophy is given to the two teams that include at least two physicians in their foursome and who have the lowest gross and lowest net score.

The Medical Center leadership determines a project for which the golf proceeds will be used. Sponsorships for the event come primarily from community businesses and friends of the Medical Center. The sponsorships include a foursome of players, a tee sign on the course, and an advertisement in the evening's program book. Participation at this event usually fills the field of 144 players and the net proceeds of the event average $100,000 - $115,000.
