Diabetes is on the rise and contributes to a host of other often life-threatening diseases and conditions such as heart disease, kidney failure, blindness and even amputation. It is critical to diagnose, treat and manage the disease as early as possible.
Our Diabetes Care Program draws upon Glendale Adventist Medical Center's expertise in medical treatment and lifestyle changes to give patients the education and support they need to control their diabetes and live a healthy lifestyle.
Certified Diabetes Educators and other staff members assist inpatients and outpatients to enhance their self-management skills regarding diet and exercise, insulin and drug management, checking blood sugar levels and other important aspects of living with diabetes.
We tailor recommendations for each patient according to his or her individual lifestyle, medical history and other personal criteria. In addition, we follow up with patients through our outpatient diabetes care program.
