Anxiety
Anxiety is a feeling of worry and tension. At times it is normal for an individual to experience a feeling of anxiety, especially in relation to an increase in stress. If anxiety becomes chronic, exaggerated or severe and persists over an extended period of time, an anxiety disorder may be present.

Symptoms of anxiety include:

  • Restlessness, feeling keyed up or on edge
  • Easily fatigued
  • Difficulty concentrating or mind going blank
  • Irritability
  • Muscle tension
  • Sleep disturbance (difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or restless, unsatisfying sleep)

When several symptoms of anxiety occur at the same time, last longer than two weeks and interfere with normal function, social activities or relationships with others, professional treatment may be needed. Call 818-409-8347 to speak to a mental health professional.
