PGY-3 Residents, 2008-2009

Dr. Edgar Agvanyan graduated from the American University at the Caribbean School of Medicine, on the island of St. Marten. He was born in Yerevan, Armenia and came to the United States when he was nine years old and lived in Hollywood. He graduated from the University of California Riverside in 2002 where he received a Bachelor of Art degree in philosophy. Dr. Agvanyan is a newlywed who looks forward to married life. Outside of medicine his interests are travel, movies, basketball, soccer, mixed martial arts and spending time with friends and family. He is very glad to be practicing medicine so close to home and looks forward to working in this wonderful community for a very long time.  He speaks Armenian and Russian.

Dr. Rodney Anderson graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. Originally from Woodinville, WA, he attended Stanford University, majoring in Biology and Economics. Prior to medical school he worked for a management consulting group in San Francisco. His wonderful wife, Cara, is a clinical psychologist student at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. Outside of medicine, Rodney enjoys church, sports, traveling, spending time with family and struggling with his guitar.

Dr. Bryan  Davidson is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He grew up in Simi Valley, CA, and received a bachelor's degree in biology from Pacific Union College. He looks forward to addressing patient needs on all levels, with emphasis on behavioral medicine, motivational interviewing, and disease prevention. His interests include world travel, fine arts, snow skiing, photography, movies, working out, spending time with friends and meeting new people.

 

Dr. Simona Davoudpour is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences, School of Medicine. She was born and raised in Iran and immigrated to the United States at the age of eight. She currently resides in West Los Angeles with her family. She attended UCLA and devoted her four years to pediatric and environmental research where she earned her bachelor's degree in organismic biology, ecology and evolution. Knowing the importance and the impact that communities have on patients and their families, she has organized many community outreach programs. She plans on continuing her strong efforts in reaching out and serving underserved communities throughout her medical career. Besides medicine, she enjoys hiking, swimming and playing the piano. She enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures. She loves to spend time with her family and friends.

Dr. Lucy Gareys entered medical school in Russia at age 16 and after successful completion went to Europe to practice. She moved to the United States in 2000. While studying for the USMLE, she worked at the Cardiovascular Institute in Encino and participated in the study of clinical uses of antihyperlipidemics, class of "statins" at Northridge Hospital Research Center. Dr. Gareys believes that her exposure to various cultures and medical practices has helped her to understand her patients better. She likes to lead by example and makes it a point to exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet.

Dr. Nonna Nariyants grew up in Armenia. She attended the University of Yerevan for two years, majoring in Russian language and literature. She moved to the US with her parents and sister in 1988. Prior to entering medical school, she served the community of Los Angeles County, first as an LVN and then as an RN. Inspired by her sister, she decided to follow the same path into medicine. She received a bachelor's degree in biology from California State University, Northridge. She graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in 2006. She is fluent in Armenian and Russian. Her hobbies include reading, traveling and swimming. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going out to dinner and coffee.

Dr. Munif Rabadi was born in Damascus, Syria, and graduated from Damascus University. After completing his Pathology residency in 2004, he came to the United States where he worked in community-based research for one year at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Outside of medicine, his interests are church, travel, movies and sports in addition to enjoying nice time with family and friends. Dr. Rabadi is fluent in English and Arabic and is looking forward to working in Glendale as a very cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural mix.


Dr. Farzin Samsami was born in Urmia, Iran and graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1987. Between 1987 and 1991 he worked as a physiology and anatomy instructor at Urmia University of Medical Sciences. After completing training at a Urology Residency Program in 1995, he worked as a full-time urologist in two different medical centers and part-time assistant professor at the university hospital in the city of his birth. He immigrated to the United States in 2003 to reunite with his family. Dr. Samsami is fluent in English, Farsi, Turkish and Kurdish. His hobbies include hiking, running, camping and spending time with his family.
