The Glendale Adventist Family Practice Residency Program offers a rich opportunity for the physician-in-training seeking a comprehensive, well-rounded experience in family medicine.
Located in the multi-ethnic urban community of Glendale, near Los Angeles, the Family Practice Residency Program appeals to the resident seeking a community health-centered residency experience in a nonprofit setting. The program is proud to offer a state-of-the-art electronic medical record system to the family doctors of tomorrow.
Who We Are
We recruit and train residents chosen from a pool of the most gifted applicants from medical and osteopathic schools. To date, the program has graduated more than 238 family physicians, developed a culturally diverse and well-rounded faculty, and has established a vital presence in the community in our more than 30 years of operation. We are proud recipients of multiple grants recognizing our commitment to excellence and allowing us to implement innovative programs and the latest technologies to benefit our patients and our physicians-in-training.
How We Serve
Through our community partnerships, we take the lead in providing a medical home for many of Glendale's indigent, medically undeserved populations and uninsured children.
Our dynamic faculty brings additional training and experience in Geriatric Medicine, Asthma and Allergy, Sports Medicine, Adolescent Medicine and Addiction Medicine.
In addition, we offer outstanding maternity care and obstetrical training. We have integrated OB-GYN residency trained faculty enthusiastic about teaching Family Practice residents, and four of our core faculty have active OB privileges. Our program was also the first to sponsor the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) training course on the West Coast.
